Your rights & concerns

Your rights, and your voice.

Every person we serve has the same rights as everyone else. If something doesn't feel right, we want to hear about it. You will never lose services or be treated differently for speaking up.

Your rights

Protected by California law.

California's Lanterman Act protects the rights of people with developmental disabilities. These include the right to:

  • Be treated with dignity and respect
  • Privacy, and to have your personal information kept confidential
  • Make your own choices about your life, your goals, and your services
  • Be free from abuse, neglect, and harm
  • Take part in community life, including your friendships and relationships
  • Speak up for yourself, and to have someone you trust help you do it

Raising a concern

Tell us. We'll listen and follow up.

  1. Talk to us

Tell your staff member, or call our office at 925-404-7232 or email welcome@enoama.com.

  2. Reach the Program Director

You can always go straight to Isaac Nkrumah, Program Director, at isaacnkrumah@enoama.com.

  3. We follow up

We'll respond within two business days, work with you on a solution, and tell you what we did.

A family member, friend, or advocate can help you or speak for you. You can also ask for a different staff member at any time.

Outside help

Other people who can help.

You can contact any of these at any time. You don't have to talk to us first.

If someone is in danger

Get help right away.

In an emergency, call 911. Enoama is not an emergency service.

Enoama staff are mandated reporters. We report suspected abuse and neglect as the law requires, and report special incidents to the Regional Center.
