Household & Money Management

Run your household, stretch a family budget, and get your children where they need to go.

A white mother with Down syndrome builds her household budget while her son colors and a parenting coach guides her.

What this looks like

Parenting runs on a working household. We work with you on managing money for a family, keeping your home clean and organized around children, and using AC Transit, BART, or Wheels to get your kids to school, childcare, and appointments.

How we teach it

  • Build a family budget covering rent, food, diapers, and childcare
  • Practice paying bills, using a debit card, and tracking spending
  • Set up cleaning and laundry routines that fit around your kids
  • Plan transit routes for school runs and appointments, stroller and all
  • Model the hygiene and self-care routines your children learn from

A real session

We sit down with this month's bills and your income and build a one-page budget: rent, groceries, diapers, transit. You find thirty dollars you did not know you had. Then we plan the bus route to your daughter's preschool and time the trip, stroller and all.
