Cooking & Meal Preparation

Hands-on instruction in your own kitchen — from following a recipe to running a stove safely.

What this looks like

Cooking is one of the most powerful daily-living skills. We work with you in your own kitchen, on the meals you actually want to eat. Sessions move at your pace — from learning to use a sharp knife safely, to following a recipe end-to-end, to planning a week of meals you can prepare on your own.

How we teach it

  • Start where you are — we assess current skills with no judgment, then build from there
  • One-on-one, in your home kitchen with the equipment you actually use
  • Step-by-step task analysis: each recipe broken into clear, repeatable steps
  • Visual recipe cards and adapted measuring tools when helpful
  • Build a personal recipe binder you keep and use long after services end

A real session

On a typical cooking day, your support staff arrives an hour before mealtime. Together you review what you'd like to make, gather ingredients you bought earlier in the week, and walk through the recipe one step at a time. You do the work; staff are there to coach, not to take over. You finish the session with a meal you made yourself and a recipe card to keep.
