Community Integration & Recreation
Find activities you love, meet people who share your interests, and build the life you actually want.

What this looks like
Independent living is about more than chores — it's about a life you're excited about. We help you find and join the activities, classes, clubs, and gatherings that actually interest you. Fitness classes, library programs, faith communities, volunteer work, hobby groups, sports — whatever calls to you.
How we teach it
- Explore your interests and find local activities that match
- Visit programs together and decide if they're a good fit
- Build the practical skills to attend regularly: transportation, scheduling, paying fees
- Practice introducing yourself, joining conversations, and making plans with new people
- Sustain participation over time — not just a single visit
A real session
You've mentioned you like music. Today we visit the community center to check out a weekly drum circle that meets on Tuesdays. You meet the facilitator, watch part of a session, and decide if you want to join next week. On the way home, we plan how you'll get there and back on your own.
